Wild coffee

Psychotria tenuifolia is a plant that has not been traditionally used for any known medicinal or cultural purposes. The scientific literature does not provide information on its traditional uses in any specific medical or cultural practices. Studies focusing on related plants, such as Palicourea tetraphylla and Palicourea rudgeoides, have characterized colleters, revealing their morphoanatomical features and protective functions. Another study involving the naturalized orchid bee Euglossa dilemma found that this bee utilized a wide variety of plant taxa for different purposes, with some genera and families not previously recorded. Additionally, research on diverse agroforests showed that these ecosystems supported specialized and modular networks of bees and plants, highlighting the importance of certain key species in network structure. The rate of new species immigration was found to be sufficient to maintain tree diversity in specific plots. No major safety issues have been reported for Psychotria tenuifolia. There are also no recorded drug interactions associated with this plant.
