Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information FolkKB collects when you use the Site, how it is used, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.
1. Who we are
The Site is operated by FolkKB. For any privacy question or request, contact us via Contact us.
2. Information we collect
You can read FolkKB without creating an account; we do not ask for your name, email, or any health information. We collect only:
- A language-preference cookie. When you choose a language, we store a small
langcookie so the Site remembers it next time. It contains only a language code (e.g. “en”). - Basic technical logs. Like most websites, our servers may record standard request data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) to keep the Site secure and working.
- Analytics — Google Analytics 4. We use Google Analytics to measure aggregate, anonymous traffic (pages viewed, approximate region, device type). It sets cookies such as
_gaand processes usage data under Google's own privacy policy. We do not use it to identify you personally. Any future advertising providers would be disclosed here too.
3. How we use information
To operate, secure, and improve the Site, to remember your language, and to comply with the law. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Cookies
We use a strictly-necessary preference cookie (lang) and Google Analytics cookies (such as _ga) that measure aggregate traffic. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; the Site will still work, but it will not remember your language.
5. Advertising & third parties
The Site may show advertising and affiliate links. Advertising partners may use cookies to measure or personalize ads under their own privacy policies. See our Advertising disclosure.
6. Your rights
Where laws such as the GDPR or CCPA apply, our legal bases are your consent (for any optional cookies) and our legitimate interest in running a secure, functional site. You may have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your data, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell it). To exercise these rights, contact us via Contact us.
7. Data retention & transfers
We keep technical logs only as long as needed for security and operation. If data is processed in another country, we take reasonable steps to protect it.
8. Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
10. Changes
We may update this policy; the “last updated” date will change accordingly. Significant changes will be made clear on the Site.
